Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

Overview:

You will be responsible for overseeing and carrying out advanced technical maintenance, repair, and service work on plant equipment & machinery within the workshop. The role ensures that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and to high quality standards.

Based from: Stonehouse, GL10 3AQ

Hours: 47.5 hours per week

Responsibilities for the job role:

• Service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of construction machinery and plant equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  Perform preventative maintenance to ensure machinery reliability and safety.
• Lead and mentor junior technicians and apprentices.
• Ensure all plant is compliant with health, safety, and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
• Support the Workshop Planner with planning maintenance schedules and equipment readiness.
• Support and supervise Workshop team 
• Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
